The Travelodge Business Account Card cuts travel expenses.
Background. Travelodge was the first budget hotel brand to launch in the UK in 1985 and now operates 380 hotels (over 26,000 rooms). Travelodge is growing rapidly, with plans to operate 70,000 rooms (approximately 1,000 hotels) by 2020.
The Challenge. Travelodge was being contacted by more companies than ever who were looking to cut their travel expenses. To capitalise on this growing opportunity, Travelodge wanted to be able to transact with their business customers as easily and cheaply as possible and they identified that the best way to do this was with an Account Card. The Account Card also needed to fit in with Travelodge’s online strategy, keeping costs to a minimum while further enhancing their business customer experience.
The Solution. G-T-P designed a multi-channel Account Card solution for Travelodge, delivering a complex integraton with Travelodge’s till and reservation systems and web providers in just 10 weeks. Continuing Travelodge’s drive to keep costs down, the card features instant online credit decisions with CAPTURE™, a fully manageable online account and e-Statementing with GTPnet™, as well as e-comms for all customer communications. G-T-P partnered with Argos Business Solutions to provide an online loyalty scheme where customers register to collect Argos Reward Points every time they spend, giving bookers another tangible reason to choose Travelodge.
The Business Account Card will enable Travelodge to capture an even larger share of the business market and grow its business customers by 100% year on year.
