Travelodge Business Account Card

The Travelodge Business Account Card has been shortlisted for the Card Awards 2010 in the category of Best Business Card Programme.

Travelodge launched their Business Account Card in February 2009 in partnership with card service provider G-T-P in a bid to double its share of the £15 billion UK travel market sector.  The Business Account Card helps Travelodge business customers manage their travel expenses via an online account management with the additional benefit of up to eight weeks free credit on all transactions with Travelodge - which include room bookings. WiFi and food & drink from the Travelodge Bar Cafés.

The Travelodge Business Account Card is key to Travelodge’s strategy of gaining a larger share of the corporate market.  The card makes the process of applying for an account, receiving a Business Account Card, booking and staying with Travelodge seamless.

The card utilises some of G-T-P’s most innovative online solutions, including CAPTURE™, G-T-P’s award winning application processing system and GTPnet™, an online account management facility. The result is a card that not only offers improved cash flow and centralised control, but also provides an enhanced customer experience.

By outsourcing the credit management to G-T-P, Travelodge has benefited from being able to offer their key business customers credit for the first time. G-T-P have automated the credit assessment and collections process, resulting in low bad debt provision and write offs. Instant Account Cards allow Travelodge to capture valuable first time spend and by capturing additional bespoke data through the application process Travelodge can segment their customers into key areas to ensure they are receiving the correct marketing message.

Travelodge Business Account Card
This is the second year in a row that G-T-P has made it to the final, following the success of the PC World Businessplus Account Card at the Card Awards earlier this year. The winners will be announced at the glamorous Card Awards ceremony on 2nd February 2010 in The Great Room of The Grosvenor House Hotel, London.

Travelodge is thrilled to be a finalist at the Card Awards,” comments Mark Kemp, Director of Revenue Management and Sales for Travelodge. “The Business Account Card has proved a real success with our business customers and has enabled us to capture an even larger share of the business market which includes high street banks, blue chip companies and the public sector.”

Helen Child, Chief Executive of G-T-P, adds "G-T-P is very proud to have made it through to the finals with Travelodge. The shortlisting recognises that the Business Account Card delivers real commercial value for both Travelodge and their customers.”
