Finalist at the Card Awards 2010

Last week G-T-P attended the 2010 Card Awards ceremony as finalists with both PizzaExpress and Travelodge. Although we didn’t win on this occasion, making it through to the final in two of this year's categories was a great achievement and a proud moment for G-T-P.

The Summer Pass made it through to the final in the category of Best Prepaid Card Marketing Campaign of the Year, while Travelodge was shortlisted for the Best Business Card Programme.

The PizzaExpress Summer Pass is a prepaid loyalty card, designed to "let PizzaExpress help you foot the bill for the Summer Holidays". The promotion, which took place during the summer of 2009, used G-T-P’s prepaid platform to reward customers who show loyalty to the brand and visited PizzaExpress three times, spending £40 or more each time, with a free £40 meal. The Summer Pass is automatically loaded with £40 once three visit "credits" have been recorded. Customers can then use the card to purchase food and drinks in any PizzaExpress restaurant, in exactly the same way as the standard PizzaExpress Gift Card.

More than 2 million Summer Passes were distributed through PizzaExpress restaurants and a feature and insert in the Sunday Times, with Sunday Times readers receiving an additional £10 on their card when they registered their card.

Travelodge launched their Business Account Card in February 2009 in partnership with card service provider G-T-P in a bid to double its share of the £15 billion UK travel market sector. The Business Account Card helps Travelodge business customers manage their travel expenses via an online account management with the additional benefit of up to eight weeks free credit on all transactions with Travelodge - which include room bookings. WiFi and food & drink from the Travelodge Bar Cafés.

The Travelodge Business Account Card is key to Travelodge’s strategy of gaining a larger share of the corporate market.  The card makes the process of applying for an account, receiving a Business Account Card, booking and staying with Travelodge seamless.

This is the second year in a row that G-T-P has made it to the final, following the success of the PC World Businessplus Account Card at the Card Awards earlier this year. In both categories G-T-P was up against some tough competition from leading highstreet brands and banking institutions, including the likes of HSBC, the Royal Bank of Scotland, Debenhams and O2.

Helen Child, Chief Executive of G-T-P, adds "G-T-P is very proud to have made it through to the finals with both PizzaExpress and Travelodge. The shortlistings recognise that G-T-P's card solutions deliver real commercial value for both our Clients and their customers.”
